Shooting Star: Putting Heart into Home Care is the story of building an award-winning home care and facilities staffing organization. With a background in sales, but no experience in leading a healthcare franchise, Jim Flickinger, along with his wife, Judy, worked up to sixteen hours a day, and without a paycheck, until everything began to click.

BrightStar of Central DuPage-Wheaton has received more than forty awards of excellence including Nurse of the Year, Regional Caregiver of the Year, Franchisee of the Year, and Mentor of the Year, and it has been recognized for marketing, online reputation, and clinical and operational excellence.

BrightStar was built on five core values:
