Having worked with legends across business and sports, Don is a catalyst in Advantage’s mission to help business leaders build their Authority, amplify their message, and realize their potential as transformational thought leaders.

Don has fashioned a career as one of America’s most provocative journalists. He has written 35 books with the likes of Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders, the NFL star running back Walter Payton, and legendary UCLA men’s basketball coach John Wooden. Don has also written books with icons of business, famous entrepreneurs, and leaders who have gone on to create movements, including Rick Hendrick (Hendrick Motorsports), Ed Bastian (Delta Air Lines), Brandon Landry (Walk-Ons), and Mike Rypka (Torchy’s Tacos).

Don is host of the top-rated Corporate Competitor podcast, National Geographic’s “Storyteller in Residence,” and was a long-time associate editor for Sports Illustrated. As a speaker, he shares his insights and experiences with 50,000+ business leaders each year, with groups as diverse as Fortune 500 companies and national championship winning sports teams.

Don is Forbes.com’s most-read leadership columnist. He has been retained by companies and organizations to coach their leaders on building a culture of greatness by looking at great teams in sports and discerning the business lessons we can learn from them.

A 1984 graduate of Ball State University, Don lives in Tallahassee, Fla. He and his wife Jeanette have a son and a daughter.
